Dogs in public places

You must keep your dog under direct supervision and control when they are not on a lead.

Beaches where dogs are allowed off lead

• Boambee Beach
• North Wall Beach
• Emerald Beach (north of Fiddamans Creek)
• Hearns Lake Beach
• Woolgoolga Back Beach*
• Darkum Beach*
• Corindi/Pipeclay Beach (south of Ocean Street)

* Subject to restrictions during Little Tern breeding season. When the breeding area is signposted, dogs must remain on a leash at all times.

Parks where dogs are allowed off lead

• Thompsons Road Reserve Dog Park Thompsons Road, Coffs Harbour

• West Coffs Reserve District Park

Dogs must be on a leash and under the effective control of a competent person.

Beaches where dogs are allowed on lead

• Sawtell Beach (north)(Murray's Beach)
• Charlesworth Bay
• Korora Beach*
• Hills Beach
• Campbells Beach
• Sapphire Beach*
• Moonee Beach*
• Safety Beach
• Mullaway Beach*
• Mullawarra Beach (Ocean View Beach)
• Arrawarra Beach*
• Red Rock Beach
• Little Beach
• Corindi Beach (north of Ocean Street)
• Woolgoolga Beach (north of Hofmeier Cl)

Owners who fail to keep their dogs on the leash and under control in on-leash areas, or take their dogs into prohibited places, can attract substantial on-the-spot fines.

Dogs are not allowed in:

• Children's playgrounds
• School grounds
• Public food preparation areas
• Wildlife protection areas

In the following places check signs to see whether dogs are allowed:

• Public areas, reserves and beaches 
• Public bathing areas
• Shopping areas 

No dogs are allowed on the following beaches:

• Sawtell Main Beach (including Sawtell Beach Reserve and Rock Pool)
• Jetty Beach
• Park Beach (including Park Beach Reserve)
• Emerald Beach (southern end)
• Diggers Beach
• Sandy Beach
• Woolgoolga Beach (southern end)

Owners who take their dogs into prohibited places can attract substantial on-the-spot fines.
