Public Exhibition of the draft Arrawarra Creek, Pipe Clay Lake and Corindi River Coastal Management Program

The City of Coffs Harbour, in consultation with local communities, government agencies and other relevant stakeholders, has prepared a draft Arrawarra Creek, Pipe Clay Lake and Corindi River Coastal Management Program.

Council at its Meeting of 27 June 2024, resolved to put the draft Arrawarra Creek, Pipe Clay Lake and Corindi River CMP on public exhibition.

The purpose of the Coastal Management Program (CMP) is to set the long-term strategy for the management of the estuaries to improve and maintain their environmental, social, cultural and recreational values and manage the current and emerging issues.

In developing the draft CMP, community and stakeholder consultation has been undertaken to identify the values and significance of the estuaries to the community, and their desired outcomes for ongoing management. The draft CMP summarises the management issues and risks and presents a series of management actions to mitigate or manage these risks to protect and enhance the values of the estuaries.

The draft CMP outlines a 10 year plan, with management actions to be implemented by the City, land managers, government agencies and the community.

The exhibition period is from 4th July 2024 to close of business on 5th August 2024. The draft Arrawarra Creek, Pipe Clay Lake and Corindi River Coastal Management Program can be viewed online on the City’s Have Your Say Page: Draft Arrawarra Creek, Pipe Clay Lake and Corindi River Coastal Management Program | Have Your Say Coffs Harbour (nsw.gov.au) where online submissions can be made.
