Sustainable schools program

Coffs Harbour Sustainable Schools program raises environmental awareness amongst students and teachers at pre-school, childcare, primary and high school in the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area (LGA). The program facilitates the Sustainable Schools Network.

Waterwise schools program

A holistic program of water education for local schools, so that they can take a long term approach to teaching wise water attitudes and behaviour to students in the Coffs Harbour LGA.

Surf safety education

Our professional ocean lifeguards provide talks with local schools each year to make students more aware of beach safety and to ensure they know what to do if they get into trouble in the water.

Road safety education

Council employs a Road Safety Officer whose duties include assisting schools' road safety programs. We supply schools with our parents' education brochure: Quick Guide to Road Rules in School Safety Zones(PDF, 2MB). See also our page on School Zones

We support school visits to the Gallery. Most exhibitions have education kits designed to provide background information on the exhibitions, artists and different art forms.
