Council can clean graffiti from Council buildings and other areas under its care, control and management.
Council prioritises the removal of graffiti based on whether it is offensive or not.
If your rubbish bin has graffiti on it but is still in good condition i.e. still has wheels and lid intact, Council will not replace the bin.
Customers can pay for a new bin to be delivered. See the Council's Fees and charges(PDF, 569KB) for details.
Council adopted a Graffiti Management Policy and Strategy in April 2016.
The Graffiti Management Policy :
Guides Council’s approach for an effective, coordinated and proactive approach to graffiti management through prevention, engagement, education, removal and enforcement.
The Graffiti Management Strategy(PDF, 862KB) :
Communicates Council’s commitment to working towards reducing levels of graffiti vandalism in the city, and to the maintenance of a safe and welcoming environment for the community and visitors, as is viable within the resources that are available.
Provides a clear and consistent framework for managing and reducing the incidence of graffiti vandalism.
Provides a graffiti management framework that aligns with the best practice principles of stakeholder engagement, reporting, removal, prevention, education and enforcement.
