Emerald Beach Access Ramp The City of Coffs Harbour is upgrading the beach access ramp at Emerald Beach Reserve to improve public access to the beach. Works start 14 Jan 2026 and finish in March 2026 (late Feb–early March). The project includes demolition of the old ramp and construction of a new reinforced concrete ramp with scour protection, funded by the NSW Government Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Program.
North Coast Regional Botanic Garden Mangrove Boardwalk Upgrade The City is upgrading the Mangrove Boardwalk within the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden to improve safety and visitor experience. The existing timber boardwalk has deteriorated and will be removed and replaced with a more durable Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) boardwalk.
Park Avenue Bus Interchange Upgrade – reVITALise Program The $1M Park Avenue Bus Interchange upgrade, part of the reVITALise Program, will transform the precinct into a safer, more vibrant, and accessible transport hub. Shaped by extensive community input, final designs are due Dec 2025, with construction starting early 2026 and completion by late 2026.
Sandy Beach – Car Park Construction We’re improving access and parking at Sandy Beach Reserve with the construction of a new car park and footpath connection. These upgrades will make it easier and safer for everyone to enjoy this popular coastal spot.
Toormina Oval upgrade A major transformation is on the way for one of Coffs Harbour’s key sporting precincts, with the approval of a $1.27 million tender to enhance the Toormina Oval. The upgrade is set to improve the facility, providing modern amenities for local sports teams and the wider community of Coffs Harbour.
Park Beach Reserve – Playground renewal A new, exciting, and inclusive district playground is coming to Park Beach Reserve.
Sandy Beach North shared path Construction of a new shared path for use by pedestrians and cyclists is set to begin in August 2025 at Sandy Beach. This project will improve connectivity for the local community, providing a safer and more accessible route for walking and cycling.
Harbour Drive and Hardacre Street Traffic Signal Upgrade To improve safety for all pedestrians including school and TAFE students and manage traffic more effectively, City of Coffs Harbour is upgrading the intersection at Harbour Drive and Hardacre Street. The existing pedestrian crossing between Hardacre Street and Hogbin Drive will be removed and replaced with a new signalised intersection at Hardacre Street.
Lyons Road Footpath and Cycle Lane Project This project aims to construct footpaths and improve cycle lanes along Lyons Rd, between Toormina Road and De Castella Drive.
Melaleuca Avenue footbridge upgrade The Melaleuca Footbridge is being upgraded to improve safety, accessibility, and durability. The existing bridge will be replaced with a wider, safer, and more durable structure, enhancing access for walkers, cyclists, and mobility scooter users.
North Boambee Valley West Road raising and bridge infrastructure We are raising the level of North Boambee Road and bridge above the one in 100 year flood level. This will enable further housing supply for the area.
