The Coffs Harbour LGA has a large number of estuaries which all require careful management.
City of Coffs Harbour has developed a Coastal Management Program (CMP) for the Northern Coffs Estuaries (including Arrawarra Creek, Pipe clay Lake and the Corindi River). The CMP has been adopted by Council and has been submitted to the NSW Minister for the Environment for certification.
A Coastal Management Program (CMP) for the estuaries of Darkum Creek, Woolgoolga Lake, Willis Creek and Hearnes Lake was adopted by Council on 27 July 2023.
We are currently developing a Coastal Management Program (CMP) for the three estuaries Moonee Creek, Coffs Creek, and Boambee/Newports Creek. The draft CMP will be on public exhibition in November 2025, where the community is invited to make submissions on the draft. Following exhibition, feedback will be considered, and a final version of the CMP will be produced for Council.
The Bonville and Pine Creek Coastal Management Program has been certified and gazetted and the final report is available.
