The Coffs Jaliigirr project

The aims of the Coffs Jaliigirr Project are to restore, manage and improve the environment for aquatic systems, bird, animal and plant life and our communities.

We value indigenous culture, knowledge and land stewardship, and have permission to use ‘Jaliigirr’ meaning tree in the local Aboriginal Gumbaynggirr language.

The project concentrates on landscape restoration and rehabilitation methods to improve linkages and restore habitats.

The regional partnership of the Great Eastern Ranges Initiative, the Jaliigirr Biodiversity Alliance, has also prioritised the conservation of links between the coast the mountains and beyond.
