5 March 2015 Jump into the Shark Tank

Find out how to get a bite for your business idea by hearing from Steve Baxter – the Toughest Shark in Channel Ten’s ‘Shark Tank’.

"This is an almost unique chance for anyone who is looking to get their great idea off the ground to find out how to really hook an investor. How often do you get the opportunity to directly grill an expert like Steve on how to make the perfect pitch?” said Nikki Greenwood, Council’s Group Leader City Prosperity.

Steve is an established entrepreneur, a prominent early stage investor and venture capitalist with a depth of expertise in telecoms networks. He is a passionate advocate for Australia’s start-up eco system and is a Founding Director of the not-for-profit association StartupAUS.

He will be offering his sought-after insights into what makes an investor sit up and listen at

Novotel Pacific Bay Resort on March 31 at 10.30am.

“Steve has extensive experience from both sides of the desk as he has had to pitch his own plans and ideas to investors, as well as evaluate those of other entrepreneurs,” added Ms Greenwood.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear from this active and astute investor about what he looks for when evaluating a potential new venture.”

This event is also a chance for budding start-ups to hear firsthand about the upcoming TELSTRA Stores Coffs Harbour Digital Innovation Challenge where you will have your chance to ‘pitch to make it happen’ with over $10,000 in cash and support up for grabs.

Tickets cost $10 per person. Seats are limited, so register now to secure a seat at this exclusive event and harness top tips from a savy investor to help boost your business.
