There will be no public gallery facility at the Council Meeting of Thursday, March 26 following the announcement that public access to Council's offices has been temporarily suspended as a precaution to help reduce the risk of Coronavirus Covid-19 infection.

People can still listen to the Council Meeting by connecting to Coffs Harbour City Council on Mixlr or via the free Mixlr app for android or iPhone/iPad devices.

The NSW Parliament has passed the COVID-19 Legislation Amendment (Emergency Measures) Bill 2020 comprising a broad range of amendments to existing laws to help combat the spread of the virus. The Bill amends the Local Government Act to allow councils to hold official meetings electronically instead of physically.

Under previous legislation, councillors had to be physically present at meetings and residents allowed to attend in person to watch them deliberate and make important decisions on behalf of the community. For the next six months, these attendance requirements will be satisfied if council meetings are held remotely using audio visual links such as Skype. If that method is not available, council meetings will be able to be held in any other manner approved by the Minister.

You can now listen live to Council meetings by connecting to Coffs Harbour City Council on Mixlr or via the Mixlr app on android or iPhone/iPad.

Simply install the Mixlr app then search for the Coffs Harbour City Council stream.

Audio copies of Council meetings will be available on SoundCloud the Monday after the draft minutes are published on Council's website.
