Every year Refugee Week celebrates the positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society, as well as raising awareness about the issues affecting refugees. Refugee Week is always held from Sunday to Saturday of the week which includes 20 June (World Refugee Day).

The past few years have seen a great array of captivating content created, as local artists and community organisations have come together with community members from refugee backgrounds to capture and share their amazing stories, perspectives and journeys.

For the past 3 years, the Freedom Feast long table multicultural feast has been the flagship community celebration to honour Refugee Week in June.

Watch a short film made by Coffs youth from refugee backgrounds for the Rec Ya Shorts youth film festival and supported by STARTTS youth program The film explores all the little things that make us happy; being with our friends, playing soccer, being a superhero & music.
