Project Overview

To improve safety for all pedestrians including school and TAFE students and manage traffic more effectively, City of Coffs Harbour is upgrading the intersection at Harbour Drive and Hardacre Street. The existing pedestrian crossing between Hardacre Street and Hogbin Drive will be removed and replaced with a new signalised intersection at Hardacre Street. 

Project Details 

  • Location: Harbour Drive and Hardacre Street, Coffs Harbour 
  • What’s involved: Installation of new traffic signals and associated civil works 
  • Project cost: $570,000  
  • Funding: Funded through the Transport for NSW Towards Zero Safer Roads Program 
  • Construction period: Works are expected to start in late May 2025 and finish by late November 2025 
  • Traffic impacts: Traffic control will be in place during the works, which will take place mostly during the day, with some night work as needed 

Why it's happening 

This upgrade will provide a safer, more controlled crossing for pedestrians and help keep traffic moving smoothly through one of Coffs Harbour’s key intersections. It's part of our ongoing commitment to safer roads and improved local infrastructure.
