The City of Coffs Harbour has completed the construction of a new cycle and footbridge in Woolgoolga. This bridge will serve pedestrians, cyclists, and mobility scooter users, promoting healthier and more sustainable transportation options. Spanning Woolgoolga Creek, it connects West Woolgoolga to Dalgety Street and Nash Street, providing easier and faster access to Woopi’s CBD and the beach.
This project is a crucial component of the City's planned path network for West Woolgoolga, aiming to enhance safety and accessibility for residents traveling to key local destinations. The network will eventually link West Woolgoolga's residential areas to:
Solitary Islands Way shopping and business precinct
Wiigulga Sports Complex
Future residential developments around Newmans Road and Bark Hut Road
The bridge has been constructed using durable, environmentally friendly materials. the project was funded by the city of Coffs Harbour and the Australian Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program.
This project is joint funded by the Australian Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program and City of Coffs Harbour. $990,000 from Australian Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program and $390,000 from The City of Coffs Harbour.
Works will begin from 31 March 2025.
