The City of Coffs Harbour is delivering important safety and access improvements along Stadium Drive to better support pedestrians, public transport users, cyclists and motorists. Construction is scheduled to begin mid-March 2026 and is expected to be completed by mid-July 2026 (weather permitting).
This project will upgrade a section of Stadium Drive to address missing footpath links, construction of a pedestrian refuge, and two bus bays and shelters, which will improve road safety for all users.
The project is funded from The City of Coffs Harbour Capital Works Program.
The works include:
What are the project benefits?
Changed traffic conditions
Access to residential properties, local businesses and key local facilities will be maintained during construction. There are no planned road closures, and the works will not extend into Ted Ovens Drive or Domain Drive.
Stadium Drive will remain open in both directions during construction, with access maintained to residential properties, local businesses and key local facilities. Construction planning will consider known events at the stadium, and traffic management will aim to reduce impacts during high-traffic periods.
Road users can expect a reduced speed limit through the work zone (from 60km/h to 40km/h), traffic control and signage, temporary adjustments to the bike lane, and temporary changes to bus stop locations.
During construction, the community may notice noise, dust, increased construction vehicles and minor traffic or parking disruptions. Please allow extra travel time during peak periods and follow all signage and traffic controller directions. Every effort will be made to minimise impacts and complete the works safely and efficiently.
How do I stay informed?
Please check the project webpage for regular updates. During construction, we will work with the contractor and use a variety of communication tools to keep the community updated on changes to traffic conditions.
