The City of Coffs Harbour is upgrading the beach access ramp at Emerald Beach Reserve to improve public access to the beach.

Project Objectives

  • Provide improved public beach access
  • Improve the ramp’s durability in coastal conditions
  • Replace the existing ramp with a new structure designed for long-term use 

What’s changing

Works include: 

  • Demolition and disposal of the existing concrete ramp 
  • Construction of a new beach access ramp, including: 
    • Reinforced concrete piles 
    • Grouted scour rock protection installation
    • Engineered fill beneath the ramp
    • Reinforced concrete ramps 

What to expect during construction 

During construction, the ramp area will be an active worksite. Safety fencing and signage will be installed around the work zone - please follow directions on site. 

Emergency vehicle access: Temporary access changes in this area are for emergency vehicles only (for example lifesaving and other emergency response teams). These temporary emergency access arrangements are not intended for public use. 

Public access: The public can continue to access the beach via the beach access adjacent to the playground.

Funding 

These works will be undertaken by the City of Coffs Harbour, with funding provided by the NSW Government Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Program Grant.
