The existing children's playground at Ulong Showground is scheduled for an update to improve play opportunities for children and families residing in and visiting Ulong.

Improvements in this upgrade will include:

New playground and play equipment
Block retaining walls
New picnic table and shelter
Connecting footpath

Construction scheduled to commence July 2025, this area of the reserve will be closed during construction.

FAQ's

What is the proposed start date for construction?

The scheduled start date for construction of the new playground is July 2025.

What is the proposed end date of construction?

Allowing for a 4-5 week approximate build time, we are aiming for the construction to be completed in August 2025.

Will the playground be accessible during construction?

No. Unfortunately, the playground will be closed during construction.

Will the new playground design include shade?

The current design scope does not include construction of separate shade structures. However, the designs incorporate built-in coverings where possible (roofs) and maximise shade through its orientation. Families are encouraged to help kids stay sun safe while playing outdoors by providing hats, shirts, sunscreen and sunglasses.
