Overview

Construction of a new shared path for use by pedestrians and cyclists has been completed at Sandy Beach. This project aimed to improve connectivity for the local community, providing a safer and more accessible route for walking and cycling.

Background

The City of Coffs Harbour has developed the Sandy Beach North Shared Path, which linked the existing path network on Coral Drive (south of Diamond Head Drive) to the Solitary Islands Way/Pacific Highway interchange in the north. This connection will provide improved access to Sandy Beach Primary School and link residents to Woolgoolga in the future.

The 3-metre-wide path was designed to accommodate pedestrians, cyclists and other path users, including mobility scooters.

Next steps
  • Finalise the design of the remaining future path sections

  • Seek funding opportunities for future construction stages
