The City of Coffs Harbour upgraded the beach access ramp at Emerald Beach Reserve to improve public access to the beach.

Project Objectives

  • Provide improved public beach access
  • Improve the ramp’s durability in coastal conditions
  • Replace the existing ramp with a new structure designed for long-term use 

What’s changed

Works included: 

  • Demolition and disposal of the existing concrete ramp 
  • Construction of a new beach access ramp, including: 
    • Reinforced concrete piles 
    • Grouted scour rock protection installation
    • Engineered fill beneath the ramp
    • Reinforced concrete ramps
