Tony has been a Councillor since 2020. He is passionate about transparency, accountability and giving our community a voice in Council. He feels a duty to speak up on contentious issues and make the community aware of how Council is dealing with the issues that are important to them. He wants residents to be able to feel that Council is listening to them and focused on their needs.
Tony has a strong commitment to social justice. He wants to see Council take a more active role in finding solutions to the housing and homelessness crisis, supporting vulnerable people and providing services to meet the needs of financially disadvantaged residents. He works closely with our Gumbaynngirr and multicultural communities to promote diversity and respect.
Tony knows how important our local environment is to all of us. He is working hard to ensure that the need for industry and development is balanced against an absolute commitment to protect the natural world in the place we love. He firmly believes that development must serve the community, not just the developer.
Tony wants Council to play a big role in creating a fairer, more open, and more compassionate community.
