Lily's Story: "She's Helped Heal My Heart"

Sometimes, the perfect companion arrives just when you need them most. 

For one local family, that companion was Lily. 

After moving to Port Macquarie with her children at the end of 2022, Lily's owner was focused on creating a stable new home. Once she had settled in and knew she could offer a loving environment, she started looking for the perfect dog to join the family. 

"I saw Lily's profile pop up on Facebook and got in touch." 

It didn't take long for Lily to become an irreplaceable member of the household. 

Today, she's a happy, playful dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She's also an excellent guard dog - nobody walks past the house unnoticed! 

From daily walks and trips to the beach to sticking her head out the car window, Lily embraces every adventure. At home, she's just as happy being the family's kitchen taste tester, enjoying belly scratches, dressing up with the kids for Halloween, destroying dog toys in record speed or curling up by the fire during winter. She sleeps on the bed every night and even enjoys a home-cooked dinner.

Knowing how much Lily loved the company of other dogs, the family decided to adopt another rescue dog, Percy, from Port Macquarie Animal Shelter. The pair quickly became the best of friends. 

"There's never a dull moment in our house with these two around."
