On Thursday 22 January, City of Coffs Harbour will join communities across Australia in observing the National Day of Mourning for the victims of the Bondi Beach attack.
As a mark of respect, flags at Yarrila Place will be flown at half-mast.
The City will also plant an olive tree in Brelsford Park at sunrise (6am), symbolising hope, light and new beginnings in honour of the theme “Light Will Win - a Gathering of Unity and Remembrance.” The community is warmly invited to attend.
Those wishing to share a message of condolence can do so on:
Online: NSW Government condolence book - Bondi Beach condolence book
In person: Physical condolence book available at the office of the State Member for Coffs Harbour at 1/9 Park Avenue, Coffs Harbour.
The National Day of Mourning is a day for us to come together, reflect on the horrific events of 14 December, and stand united against hate and violence.
Let’s honour those affected and strengthen our commitment to a community where everyone feels connected, supported and safe.
