The transformation of the Coffs Creek Walk into a shared path and cycleway began at the end of March 2010 and was officially opened in September 2011.
The upgrading of the nine-kilometre route around the creek cost $2m. Funds for the project were received from the Federal Government's Economic Stimulus Plan and through a generous donation from the Hogbin family of Coffs Harbour.
The shared path and cycleway helps link the CBD with some of the city's major tourist destinations - the Regional Botanic Garden, Pet Porpoise Pool, Jetty Beach and Park Beach. In addition, it provides a new commuter route for residents who live in the Jetty area, but work in the city centre.
