‘We Care Day’ is another opportunity for you to show you care about
the future and community of Coffs Harbour.
Helping shape the future of Coffs Harbour is the aim of
MyCoffs - a campaign to capture the goals and aspirations of the whole
community to create a vision for how we want to be living in the future.
The MyCoffs community
conversation will endeavour to reach and inspire anyone and everyone to think
about what we love about the place that we call home – and to motivate them to
make their mark on that future.
Ultimately, the vision
created by the MyCoffs conversation will inform a Plan called the Community
Strategic Plan (CSP). The current Plan - Coffs Harbour 2030 - is now eight
years old and it’s time for us as a community to look again at what we think is
As part of the campaign,
MyCoffs Community Champions and representatives will be at ‘We Care Day’ on
Saturday, October 8, at Brelsford Park to ask people what their priorities are for
In addition to the MyCoffs team, Council’s Access Advisory Committee
will be on hand to ask the community for their ideas to help develop a Disability
Inclusion Access Plan.
‘We Care Day’ is all about bringing people together in an inclusive
and accessible space to enjoy a day that celebrates who we are and the great
place we live.
An inclusive society is something that’s very important to MyCoffs Community
Champion Zarifa Nadir Hussain.
Former refugee Zarifa came to Coffs Harbour from Pakistan just over two
years ago with her sisters and brother. She is honoured that Coffs is her new
home and that she has the opportunity to start a new life.
Zarifa’s vision for the future of Coffs Harbour is: “A tolerant,
respectful and inclusive community, where everyone feels they belong.”
