23 March 2016 Securing Funding for Community Organisations

Coffs Harbour City Council is offering a FREE Grant Writing Workshop to help community groups or not-for-profit organisations access and secure funding for their projects.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday April 5, 2016 from 3-4pm at the Coffs Harbour City Council Chambers.

Topics covered will include:

·         Identifying potential grant sources

·         The requirements of a grant application

·         How to write a successful grant application

·         Acquittal of your Grant

Council staff will also be available to answer any general funding questions.

Following this workshop Council will provide specific information on applying for the 2016/17 Community Capital Infrastructure Grant Program, which opens Monday April 4, 2016.

Council has made available $300,000 for this program to assist not-for-profits and voluntary community organisations undertake capital projects that enhance the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the local community.

Organisations thinking of applying for funding under the Community Capital Infrastructure Grant Program should attend the second workshop session on Tuesday April 5, 2016 from 4-5pm where they will learn how to address key criteria, and what Council can do to assist with applications.

Past recipients of the Community Capital Infrastructure Grant Program have included; Woolgoolga Netball Courts, Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium of Music (seating for a performance space), Sawtell Toormina Sports and Recreation (Awning to front of Rugby Club), Englands Park Tennis (refurbishment of amenities), & Sawtell BMX Club (BMX Track upgrade including asphalting of berms).
