20 April 2016 Resignation of Councillor

Councillor Bob Palmer has today tendered his resignation from Coffs Harbour City Council with immediate effect for personal reasons.

Council would like to thank Cr Palmer for his contribution to the city of Coffs Harbour and local government since he was elected in 2012.

Under the provisions of the Local Government Act, Council, with the approval of the Local Government Minister can continue to operate with eight Councillors until the next local government elections in September 2016, as the date of resignation is within 18 months of those elections.

A report recommending that Council seek approval from the Minister to continue with eight Councillors until the elections is to be presented at the next Council Meeting on April 28.
