27 July 2016 Disruption to Waste Collection Services

UPDATED 28 July 2016:

The England’s Road waste facility in Coffs Harbour reopened to the public for waste drop-offs late yesterday (27/7/2016).

Household bin collections are operating as normal.

Green waste is being sent to the composting facility at Grafton, yellow bin recyclables are being processed as normal by the Materials Resource Recovery Facility (MRRF) at Englands Road and red bin waste is being landfilled at their respective landfills by Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca Councils.

***

A fire in the Biomass plant at the England’s Road waste facility in Coffs Harbour today (27/7/16) is disrupting Council’s local bin collection service.

The landfill and recycling facilities are currently closed and Council is using alternative regional waste facilities.

There will be possible delays to local kerbside collections today (27/7/16), but we are asking residents to leave out any unemptied bins overnight and they will be emptied tomorrow.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and would ask that residents exercise patience.

We will keep the community updated.
