13 September 2016 Community Capital Infrastructure Grants Presented

The latest rounds of
Council’s Community Capital Infrastructure Grants were presented to the
successful applicants at a presentation at the Council Chamber today (13 September).
Nine applications were
approved in the first 2015/2016 round, totaling $82,400, and the balance of
$117,600 was approved for a second round in February 2016. Six applications
were subsequently received in the second round and four applications totaling
$117,600 in funds were approved.
- Districts BMX Club Inc. Grant
requested for a BMX Track Starting Gate upgrade. $17,000 is to be provided.
- Coffs Harbour Men’s Shed Inc.
Grant requested for Stage 1 - Construction of a slab and groundworks for a
Men’s Shed Facility on Council-owned land at Howard Street. $67,500 is to be
- Sawtell Croquet Club Inc. Grant
requested for construction of a new Croquet Lawn. $20,000 is to be provided.
- Sawtell Toormina Sports
Recreation Club Inc. Grant requested for a ridged, all-weather shade shelter at
Rex Hardaker Oval. $13,100 is to be provided.
In the first round of the
2016/2017 programme, seven applications were received. Three of those were
successful and they are to be presented with grants totalling $85,500.
- Westside Tennis Club.
Construction of new hard court for wheelchair participants and the upgrade of a
sand court to synthetic grass. Funds worth $20,000 in funds have been provided.
- Coffs Harbour Netball
Association Inc. Lighting upgrade to
LED. $33,000 in funds is to be provided.
- Coffs City United Football
Club. McLean Street Oval lighting upgrade (Stage 2). A grant of $32,500 has
