12 Augsut 2015 Training Opportunities in the Agricultural Sector

Local agrifood producers interested in expanding their businesses should come along to a FREE workshop hosted by North Coast TAFE and Coffs Harbour City Council on Monday August 17 as part of the Growing Innovation Series of workshops.

 

North Coast TAFE recently undertook a study into labour needs within the region and this workshop will give participants the opportunity to explore the results of the study and look at areas such as growth strategies and the development of training strategies to support expansion within their businesses.

 

Also on the agenda will be discussion on how the size, diversification and value adding of certain crops present challenges and opportunities.

 

The workshop also offers a chance for participants to have their say on what training opportunities they would like to see available in the local agricultural sector.

 

Representatives from the Federal Government’s Industry Skills Group will be on hand to explain how eligible businesses can tap into the Industry Skills Fund to help meet the cost of training and how the sector can work together to make the most of the available funding.
