25 May 2015 Popular Pair Return to Gallery

Soprano Samantha Cobcroft and pianist Vincent Parmeter will bring their crowd-pleasing musical talents back to Coffs Harbour in a concert at the Regional Gallery on Sunday, June 14.

The Gallery's Director/Curator Dr Leigh Summers said that arts lovers who've already seen performances from the pair before will be lining up to see them again, such is the power of their performance.

"Many people will remember both Sam and Vincent for the shows they did at EMSLA and the inaugural Opera by the Ocean event," said Dr Summers.

“More widely, Sam is well-known for her many roles in operas by Handel.”

Samantha Cobcroft has worked with illustrious conductors across Australia and has had a long association with the Newcastle Cathedral Choir, performing as a soloist, cantor and alto chorister. She is also a voice coach for many aspiring singers and is noted for her interest in baroque music.

“This concert is a departure that her many admirers will respond to as she embarks on a glorious musical journey inspired by love’s passions through the works of Schubert, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Liszt and more,” said Dr Summers.

“The fact that this husband and wife duo is deeply happy will add a lovely atmosphere to this event.”

Mr Parmeter is a performer, teacher and accompanist who has also studied jazz with some of Sydney’s leading jazz teachers.

The concert will be held at Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery at 4pm on June 14. Tickets are $25 at the door. Refreshments will be served at interval.
