7 August 2015 Popular ARTBAR returns to Gallery

Grab your watercolours, crayons, pencils, laptop or camera and head to Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery for the first ARTBAR interactive happening of the year on Friday, August 21.

Peek behind the curtains of the world of professional dance with international performer and choreographer Corrie Wade and dance partner Kelly Stoner and draw, paint, photograph, write about or just observe the performance.

“The last ARTBAR was a huge success with artists, musicians, dancers, would-be dancers, photographers and observers who watched, painted, drew and photographed the performers,” said Gallery Director/Curator Dr Leigh Summers.

“Corrie and Kelly will also talk about how and why they dance and the highs and lows of life in the professional dance world.

“Corrie has danced his way across Europe, Latin America and the UK and is now based in Coffs Harbour for a year.

“Two ‘taster’ dance lessons are included in the ticket price for those who want to try some new moves. This proved to be incredibly fun and energising at the last ARTBAR.”

Participants are asked to bring their own materials, but there will be a limited supply of art supplies and easels on hand.

The ARTBAR will take place at Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery on Friday, August 21, from 7.15pm.

Entry costs $15 and refreshments will be available.

To book, contact the Gallery on 6648 4863 or email gallerymail@chcc.nsw.gov.au
