21 October 2015 Nominate Now for Australia Day Awards

Coffs Harbour is full of ordinary people who do extraordinary things – and now is the time to give them the recognition they deserve by nominating them for an Australia Day 2016 Award.

“We all know someone who is quietly achieving great things in the arts, or sport, or just simply doing amazing things for the community,” said Coffs Harbour Mayor, Councillor Denise Knight.

“We have a fantastic community and it’s made up of individuals who are great role models, or who spend most of their free time helping others or encouraging the talents of our youth.

“Let’s show them how proud we are of them by giving them the credit they’re due.”

Nominations are invited from individuals, service clubs, schools, associations or community organisations in the following categories:

w Citizen of the Year Award

w Young Citizen of the Year Award

w Sportsperson of the Year Award

w Volunteer of the Year Award

w Community Event of the Year Award

w Sue Hunter Memorial Award

The 2016 Australia Day Awards will be presented at a special community event in the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden on January 26 2016.

Nomination forms are available on Council’s website at www.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/australiaday or can be picked up from Council’s main Administrative Centre.

Nominations close on Friday December 4 2015.
