Do you hate to throw away excess or out-of-date food? Then come
along to the next FREE Living Lightly workshop on May 24 and learn how to cut
food waste and save money.
“NSW households throw away $2.5 billion worth of edible food each
year and, in doing so, waste the energy, water and natural resources used to
grow, package, transport and market that food,” said Sian Nivison, Council’s
Group Leader Community and Cultural Services.
“The Living Lightly ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ workshop aims to raise
awareness about the impact of food waste in NSW and reduce the amount of good
food we waste.
“This fun and practical workshop is designed to educate
participants in how to reduce waste and save money through better planning,
shopping and food storage.”
The workshop will be held at the Coffs Regional Community Gardens,
on Sunday May 24 from 10:30am to
12.30pm. Lunch is provided and bookings are essential.
