22 April 2015 Get Started on Your Startup

Stop dreaming of getting your brilliant idea off the ground and take the action to make it a reality.

As part of the Telstra Stores Coffs Harbour Digital Innovation Challenge, Six Degrees Coworking, Coffs Harbour City Council and BlueChilli are presenting a FREE workshop to help you take your concept from ‘what if’ to ‘startup’. It is taking place on Thursday, April 30 from 9am – 3pm at the Six Degrees Coworking hub in the Community College, City Square, Coffs Harbour.

The Challenge is a competition designed to inspire budding entrepreneurs to create and pitch their innovative digital solution to improve business - and provide them with the prize money and specialist support they need to make it happen. A total of $10,000 worth of cash and prizes is on offer in two categories – Open Entrepreneur (25s and Over) and Youth Entrepreneur (Under 25s).

The FREE workshop is open to both those wanting to take part in the challenge or local entrepreneurs wanting expert startup advice.

“If anyone knows startups and the way to get them from idea to action, it’s Alan Jones and BlueChilli,” said Nikki Greenwood, Council’s Group Leader City Prosperity. “BlueChilli partners with entrepreneurs to help build, grow and invest in their new tech start-up businesses and they also develop corporate innovation acceleration programmes. They have listened to hundreds of pitches, have helped create over 11 millionaires and worked within 16 different industry sectors.

“Alan is the Chief Growth Hacker and is responsible for marketing BlueChilli and teaching startup skills. He is regularly described as one of Australia’s Top Startup Mentors.

“The workshop with Alan Jones concentrates on lean startup principles which people can apply to their business development ideas. They can then use what they learn to grow their business or conveniently use it to have a strong base to put a pitch together for the Digital Innovation Challenge.”
