New City of Coffs Harbour Mayor Nikki Williams encouraged her Council to “dream big” at its inaugural meeting at Yarrila Place.

Each of the elected nine councillors took an oath or affirmation ahead of the first ordinary meeting in the River Oak Room on Thursday 24 October.

At that meeting Cr George Cecato was elected by his peers for the position of Deputy Mayor.

“I proudly extend my congratulations to all elected councillors,” Mayor Williams said.

As well as Mayor and Deputy Mayor, the new council elected to a four-year term includes Crs Paul Amos, Jonathan Cassell, Cath Fowler, Tony Judge, Les Oxford, Gurminder Saro and Julie Sechi.

“Coffs Harbour is currently in an exciting period of change with the Bypass under construction. We have a unique opportunity right now to build on where we currently are,” Mayor Williams said.

Council’s next scheduled meeting will be at 5pm on Thursday 14 November.
