Coffs Harbour City Council alongside SES and emergency services is well into the clean-up from Wednesday’s storm event.

To assist impacted members of the community Council is running a free pick-up for storm damaged household items (carpet, furniture etc.).

These items can be placed in a pile at the front of the residence (on the footpath / nature strip) for pick-up.

For Green Waste (the material that will need to be chipped – branches etc.) associated with the storm, this can also be placed in a separate pile at the front of the residence (on the footpath / nature strip) for pick-up.

All leafy and loose green waste material should be placed into the green waste bin – with the bin left out for collection (with this collection being an additional free pick-up to the normal service).

Collection of this waste material will start as soon as possible and continue tomorrow through to Sunday (3 days) after which time the need for further collections will be reassessed.

These free collections/pickups are in place for severely impacts areas – those being Sawtell, Toormina, East Boambee and parts of Bonville which are east of the highway (near Sawtell).

Community in these areas can also self-haul damaged items or green waste to England’s Road for free of charge – but the weigh bridge staff will be checking the material to ensure it complies with the service we are offering.
