Due to popular demand, Council is extending their FREE tech-help sessions to anyone needing assistance with the technology needed to go to the shops.

Run by Youngster.co and their team of tech-savvy youth, the sessions offer assistance with:

  • Downloading vaccination certificates
  • Using the Service NSW app to scan Covid QR code check-ins
  • Downloading Dine & Discover vouchers.

Council have been funding these sessions since August, but since the release of the NSW Government’s vaccination certificate system, demand has risen sharply in recent weeks.

“There is a real need for this kind of technological support for our seniors. We’ve been seeing other businesses and services direct them to our sessions because no one else is available to help,” said Victoria Harper, City Centre Marketing & Activation Coordinator at Coffs Harbour City Council.

“It’s a win-win for the whole community. Seniors gain confidence in being able to use the technology, and businesses can benefit from their custom again.”

Tony Rothacker, founder of Youngster.co, said: “We want to thank Council for their partnership so far. But we’re really after some commitment and future funding from the NSW and Federal Governments to extend these sessions out even longer.

“Our seniors are in a really tricky place at the moment, and no one else seems available to help. We also provide the opportunity for the youth of our area to help out our seniors which has been invaluable in the sharing of knowledge and bridging the generational gap in our community.”

Sessions will be run Tuesday 26 October through Friday 29 October 9am-1pm at City Square, Coffs Harbour. Drop-ins are welcome and encouraged. The wet weather back up is Coffs Central, Level 1 in front of Kmart.

Keep an eye on the Coffs City Centre Facebook page for more FREE sessions with Youngster.co.
