COVID-19 Safety Measures

Council's Customer Service Centre is now open. There are some restrictions and important safety measures in place, including the use of screens at counters, sanitiser stations on entry and social distancing markings on the floor, to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.

You can still conduct business with us via our online services or by calling or emailing us.

Emergency contact and urgent issues

To contact Council duty staff for emergency, urgent or any matters listed below please call 02 6648 4000, 24 hours, 7 days a week.

  • Sewer issues or overflows

Council's Customer Service Centre (including Rigby House) will be closed between Christmas and New Year. These offices will close at 4:30pm Wednesday, 23 December 2020 and re-open for business at 8:30am on Monday, 4 January 2020.

During this period, people wishing to report matters of an urgent nature such as water and sewer breaks, dog problems and urgent road maintenance should ring Council's listed phone number (02) 6648 4000.


The Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery and Museum will also be closed Thursday 24 December and Public Holidays (25-26, 28 December and 1 January) - normal opening days/hours (Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm) otherwise apply.


All libraries will be closed Thursday 24 December and Public Holidays (25-26, 28 December and 1 January) - normal opening days/hours otherwise apply (see below):

  • The Harry Bailey Memorial Library (central library): Monday to Friday, 10am to 12noon, 1pm - 5pm; and Saturday 10am to 12pm.

  • Toormina and Woolgoolga branch libraries: Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm; and Saturday 10am to 12 noon.


The Jetty Memorial Theatre (Box Office) will be closed Thursday, 24 December and re-open at 12.00 noon on Tuesday, 5 January 2021.


The Community Village (Reception Office) will be closed Thursday, 24 December and re-open on Monday, 4 January 2021.


Council's Operational Depots will be closed Thursday, 24 December 2020 and re-open on Monday, 4 January 2021.

Your household waste collection services will continue as normal with no interruption over the Christmas and New Year period including the public holidays.

The Englands Road waste management facility and public recycling drop off will be closed to the public on Christmas Day (25 December). 

There will be no changes to the opening hours for the three waste transfer stations at Woolgoolga, Lowanna and Coramba – which will be open weekends including on Boxing Day (26 December).
