George Cecato was first elected Councillor in September 2016 and served as Deputy Mayor for 3 years. He is a businessman and active community member who has has lived in Coffs Harbour for 32 years.
George has been a Rotarian for the last 25 years, elected president twice. Hewas a stakeholder at the original Jetty Foreshores Beautification Reference Group and suggested the steps and the boardwalk.
George served as president of the Coffs Harbour Tourism Association for 4 years, and was the first president ever to amalgamate with other LGAs to form the Coffs Coast Tourism Association.
He was also president of The Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce for 4 years, with the Chamber winning best Regional Chamber Mid North Coast during that time.
George is a balanced conservative and has the qualifications, knowledge and skills necessary to understand the different and sometimes complex issues and challenges the position brings.
George has been married to Anna for 49 years, have two children Adrian and Vanessa and two grandchildren Bronte and Darby.
