Children and youth

Our city is home to 21,380 children and young people, aged between 0 -24 years, as recorded in our last census of 2016.

It is important that we are responsive to the needs of children and young people and adaptive to changing times of rapid growth in new technologies. A Youth Issues and Options paper is currently being developed, looking at the opportunities and challenges facing youth in the Coffs Harbour region.

In collaboration with community groups and services, we support children and young people in Coffs Harbour through programs and partnerships, and create opportunities for them to actively participate in community life.

We attend the Ynet Interagency meeting once a month which focuses on building networks for the delivery of these programs.

Youth Week is a week-long celebration held in early April each year that is organised by young people for young people.
