Firework displays

SafeWork NSW manages and regulates the planning and authorisation of firework displays. However we must be notified and may object or impose conditions on an applicant’s use of fireworks.

If you want to undertake a fireworks display within the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area you must notify us 7 working days prior to the event.

You must include with your notification:

Notification of Proposed Fireworks Display

Step 3.What happens next?

We use the SafeWork NSW guidelines when reviewing a proposed fireworks display.

Under the Explosives Regulation 2013, councils may object or impose conditions on an applicant’s use of fireworks.

We will notify the pyrotechnician and SafeWork NSW if we have any objections to a planned display.

SafeWork NSW is the agency who ultimately authorises or refuses firework display applications.
