What Council's Doing

Stage 1A - Adventure Playground

Works to Begin on Adventure Playground

A landmark play tower, an interactive water feature, a rope play structure, a multi-use play deck, a disc roundabout, chalk boards, patterned pavements, swings, seesaws, fun scientific sets, sand diggers and a range of toddler-age play equipment will all be included in the new $1,068m Adventure Playground planned for Brelsford Park.

Construction of the new Playground, which will incorporate a central pathway in the shape of a giant dragon, will begin on 17 August.

As part of the consultation over the Adventure Playground design, meetings were held with parents, child-care workers, the police, school-aged children and a specialist playground designer. The resulting blueprint provides a variety of fun, interactive activities for all age groups.

A new amenities block and temporary carpark are also to be built in this initial phase. The Adventure Playground is the initial project to be developed in the first stage of the Brelsford Park improvements. Its $1,068m cost will be met through a Federal Government grant awarded to Council earlier this year.
