Official Opening & Community Fun Day - 1 March 2008

The Hogbin Drive Extension and the new Bangalor Bridge over Coffs Creek were officially opened and the historic event was celebrated with a Community Fun Day on Saturday, 1 March 2008.

Program for the Hogbin Drive Extension Opening Celebrations:

From 9.00am

  • Vintage and Veteran Cars and Motorcycles on Display
  • Displays by Indigenous Elders, SES, NSW Fire Brigades, Coffs Harbour City Council
  • Food & Drinks Stalls
  • Fairy Floss and Airbrush Tatoos

9.30 - 10.00am

  • Cycle Racing

10.00am - 10.45am

  • Start of Official Ceremony
  • Welcome to Country & Smoking Ceremony
  • Blessing of the Bridge by Religious Leaders
  • Official Opening of Hogbin Drive Extension

10.45am

  • Parade by Vintage and Veteran Cars & Motorcycles, led by the Coffs Coast Pipes & Drums Band
    and the 1910 Hardacre Star vehicle from the Museum

10.45am - 12.30pm

  • Community Walk - where everyone can enjoy this first opportunity to walk, skate, cycle or scooter
    across the new bridge and along the new road

12.30pm

  • End of Community Fun Day

4.00pm

  • Hogbin Drive Extension Opens to Normal Traffic


Please park in the vicinity and walk or cycle over to the venue via Harbour Drive or the Coffs Creek Walk.
Toilets will be located north and south of the bridge. Disabled toilet south of the bridge. First Aid Station north of the bridge.
