Exhibitions at the Bunker Gallery
The Bunker Cartoon Gallery has two main exhibition areas. The foyer is frequently used to display and promote established and emerging Australian cartoonists and caricaturists. The main gallery is used for high calibre travelling exhibitions as well as those drawn from the Bunker's own impressive holdings and community-based exhibitions.

'Shards of Colour' - Group Mosaic ExhibitionThe Mosaic Group is an informal group of artists from Coffs Harbour, Sawtell, Bellingen and Bowraville. They meet once a month to swap ideas and advice but have no teacher. The group includes local artists such as Chris Stewart, Liz Cram, Annie Payne, Val Mola and Hillary Hartney to name a few. The works are 2D and 3D in tile and glass from realistic to abstract including functional pieces such as mirrors and bowls. 'Naturescapes' - Col SouthA collection of drawings by Col South exploring the delicate balance of light and shade typified by the rainforest. Col South is a retired High School Principal who grew up in Dorrigo with the Dorrigo National Park as a playground. With a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Arts he studied art for one year with Frank Hinder at Sydney Teachers College. He furthered his love for art with several courses at Camp Creative and Grafton's Art Fest. Having retired to Coffs Harbour eight years ago Col has devoted his time to drawing and painting. He is an accomplished model maker, woodturner and furniture maker. He frames the works himself with many mouldings manufactured from recovered and recycled North Coast Red Cedar. His most recent works are in the mediums of pen and ink on watercolour paper and pen and wash. He also works in oils, watercolour and pencil on watercolour paper. Coffs Harbour is an ideal base from which to access The New England, Dorrigo and Grafton regions and most of his work is inspired by the landscape of the rainforest in this area. Living at Heritage Park he has a ready source of bird and animal subjects at his doorstep. |
