Centrally located in Coffs Harbour on Hogbin Drive, the Coffs Harbour Education Campus (CHEC) is a partnership of the Coffs Harbour Senior College, TAFE NSW - North Coast Institute and Southern Cross University. The integrated campus has outstanding facilities where students benefit from the additional educational benefits of tri sectoral cooperation.

The learning pathways at CHEC and the unique educational environment have been pioneered during the first decade of operations of this multi sectoral campus. The three partners provide specialisation in nursing, hospitality, childrens services and psychology.

Other vocational areas available at the campus include real estate, small business, horticulture, welfare, fine arts, information technology, engineering and hairdressing. Some on-campus accommodation is available for full-time students.

Some 5000 students study each year at CHEC. International students also study at the campus, many commencing their studies at the CHEC English Language Centre.

The Coffs Harbour Campus of Southern Cross University offers an excellent learning environment and support for students. Courses are available in:

In addition to the high quality degree and diploma courses, many staff also conduct research in areas related to the teaching courses (such as Psychology, IT and Business). Currently the university is participating in the Co-Operative Research Centre for Desert Knowledge. The university also participates in the development of the Aged Services Learning and Research Collaboration (ASLaRC), and are working with the Area Health Services, the North Coast Institute of TAFE, and the University of New South Wales in various other projects.

The Students Association at the University is a dynamic and friendly group of people. Coffs Harbour Senior College is a unique educational institution. They share a common campus and resources with TAFE and Southern Cross University. This partnership provides a wonderful physical environment for students to achieve to their potential. It also provides excellent educational opportunities where students can study TAFE and university courses, as part of their HSC, in a tertiary style atmosphere in an adult environment. Since 1995 students have continued to excel through study at the College. Individual and group performances are notable across a broad range of courses, with students in the top state rankings in many courses.

The North Coast Institute is the leading education and training institution on the north coast and in 2004 was awarded the Australian Large Training Provider of the Year, along with the 2004 and 2005 NSW Large Training Provider of the Year. Two of the 17 campuses are located in Coffs Harbour. The National Marine Science Centre, Coffs Harbour is a joint venture between the university of New England (Armidale) and Southern Cross University (Lismore) and commenced operations in 2002. The Centre's location in the Solitary Islands Marine Park offers a thriving and diverse marine habitat. Through its Marine Science and Management Course, the NMSC aims to produce multi-skilled science graduates. The Centre also offers an extensive number of Post-Graduate options. The Centre also undertakes research and consulting projects.
