Progress of Works + Photos
Work on the first stretch of the Hogbin Drive Extension (Albany Street to Harbour Drive) began in April 2006, starting with the relocation of services such as water, sewerage and electricity.
Earthworks for the road corridor between the Albany Street roundabout and Harbour Drive, and work on the construction of a roundabout on Harbour Drive, adjacent to Orara Street, began in August 2006.
The first section of the Hogbin Drive Extension (Harbour Drive roundabout to Albany Street roundabout) and the new roundabout on Harbour Drive both opened to traffic on 5 April 2007.
Work is continuing on the construction of the sections of road between the Harbour Drive roundabout and the bridge, and the northern section between the bridge and Orlando Street. Completion of these sections is expected in early 2008.
