In 2002, Coffs Harbour City Council was awarded the Bluett Award for being the "best Council in NSW" (photo on the right courtesy of The Coffs Coast Advocate).

In the same year, Coffs Harbour won the international Nations in Bloom Award for being the "most liveable city in the world" (for cities with a population up to 75,000). This was the first time an Australian city had won the United Nations endorsed competition.

Council is committed to seeing Coffs Harbour retain its unique character and special attributes that make this city such a desirable location to live and work.

This is reflected in Council's Vision for the City and Strategic Directions.
