 Waste Facility Operations 

At the Englands Road Waste Facility

From 1 October 2014 Council is improving the management of concrete, brick and tile wastes. Details are as follows:

Accepted - To Concrete Waste Reprocessing Facility

  • Concrete slabs
  • Concrete roof tiles
  • Bricks and pavers

Not Accepted - Directed to Landfill

  • Concrete, bricks or roof tiles mixed with other demolition waste
  • Ceramics including tiles and bathroom fixtures
  • Fibre cement or compressed cement materials
  • Asbestos containing materials
  • Plastic, glass or soil

Concrete slabs, bricks and roof tiles can be disposed of on any day at Coffs Harbour Waste Facility by appointment ONLY.

Inspection of concrete loads will be conducted by waste facility staff and suspect loads WILL be rejected.

All tarps must be removed from vehicles for inspection by weighbridge staff before entering the weighbridge.

At the Englands Road Waste Facility

The following changes will take effect from 1 October 2014 regarding bathroom and kitchen renovation waste disposal. Bathroom and kitchen renovation waste material will no longer be accepted as concrete/masonry waste.

Bathroom and kitchen renovation waste, as well as appropriately wrapped asbestos waste, will ONLY be received at the Englands Road Facility on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

Loads of bathroom and kitchen demolition waste will now be inspected by landfill staff prior to unloading and suspect loads WILL be rejected. Customers should note that any suspected asbestos waste should be handled, managed and disposed of in accordance with WorkCover guidance.

Concrete, concrete roof tiles, bricks & pavers cannot be accepted at Waste Transfer Stations.

Our Facilities

Coast Resource Recovery Park
Location: Englands Road, Coffs Harbour
Open: Mon – Fri from 7:30am – 5:00pm 
Weekends and Public Holidays from 8:00am – 4:00pm 

There are FREE drop off facilities located at the Park for:

  • Polystyrene
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Recyclables (glass, plastics, steel and aluminium and tetra packs)
  • Hazardous items such as paint, chemicals, gas bottles, fluorescent globes
  • eWaste (computers, monitors and hardware)

Asbestos is accepted only under strict conditions and only on Thursdays and Fridays between 9am and 12pm. Contact the Coffs Coast Waste Services Hotline on 1800 265 495 for more information.

Coramba Transfer Station
Location:  East Bank Road, Coramba
Open: Saturday and Sundays only 8:00am – 4:00pm

Lowanna Transfer Station
Location:  Lowannna Road, Lowanna
Open: Monday, Wednesday and Sundays only 8:00am – 4:00pm

Woolgoolga Transfer Station
Location:  11 Willis Road, Woolgoolga
Open: Saturday and Sundays only 8:00am – 4:00pm 

Environmental Monitoring Data for the Englands Road Landfill - Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour City Council is the holder of an Environment Protection Licence issued by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) under the Protection of the Environment Act 1997, for the Englands Rd landfill

In 2011, amendments to the Act were introduced that require holders of Environment Protection Licences to publish monitoring data. The requirement to publish applies to data collected from 31 March 2012 onwards. The relevant monitoring data is available below, together with a site map showing monitoring locations.

Pollution Incident Response Management Plan for the Englands Road Landfill, Coffs Harbour

In 2011, amendments to the Act were introduced that require holders of Environment Protection Licences to prepare a Pollution Incident Response Management Plan (PIRMP). The PIRMP (web version) for Environment Protection Licence 6267 is available below.
