Artist Talk

Deb Mansfield, Alex Riske & JP Willis

Saturday 30 September 2017

10.30am - 11.30am

Join Coffs Harbour Regional Museum and Gallery Curator, Jo Besley, and exhibiting artists, Deb Mansfield, Alex Riske & JP Willis for an informal talk and Q&A panel session.

Bring your questions for this relaxed, informative session. Explore the visions of these three artists whose work blur the boundaries between the digital and the handmade in unexpected ways.

Paintings appear like photographs; patterns and images we expect to be computer-generated are instead hand-drawn; and found images are transformed into photo tapestries, subverting perceptions of both mediums.

Art Goes to Court

Friday 24 November 2017

7pm - 10pm

The Friends of the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery are taking the ARTS to court and you are invited!

A unique opportunity to see what’s inside Coffs’ new courthouse without guilt or accusation. The courthouse gardens and foyer will be the location for a special evening to herald a new phase for Arts on the Coffs Coast.

Join a special line up of national and local Arts voices to entertain you.

ABC’s James Valentine hosts one of his “pub chats” with a panel of creatives including Dave Horsley from Screenwave, Jo Besley our Gallery Curator, Belinda Lemair from the Young Actors Studio, and Lisa Slade, Curator of the Art Gallery of South Australia.

Scott Muller from Ten Tenors fame will provide a private concert mixing classical and contemporary music. John Thiering will create one of his world famous sand paintings right before our eyes. Plus as we mingle, students will entertain with mime, circus acts and an interactive arts demonstration.

All food and drink is included with delicious gourmet creations and beer, wine and soft drink flowing throughout the evening.

We are staging this special fundraising event in anticipation of breaking ground on our new gallery space, with all proceeds going towards acquiring new artworks for the gallery’s still life collection. Help us put Coffs Harbour on the Australian Arts map!
