Super Tuesday
Super Tuesday is a day on which rider numbers and routes are recorded from 7am until 9am on the first Tuesday in September.
As a regular and consistent measure of bike riding movements across the country, Super Tuesday provides councils with reliable and accurate figures about rider numbers and preferred movements through the Local Government Area. This data strengthens the case for further investment in better bicycle facilities.
You can support the Super Tuesday Bike Count and help get better bicycle facilities by volunteering to count riders on Super Tuesday. Each count volunteer will be given $50 to donate to their designated bicycle club, school or other designated community group.

The latest 2012 study was conducted on 4th September. The weather was fine and warm, but numbers were lower than March 2011. The busiest intersection was the Hogbin Drive / Albany Street intersection with 53 riders (down 5%), whilst the site that recorded the biggest increase in riders was Sandy Beach with 13 more riders tha in 2011 (total 16) .
The survey helps Council tailor the location of future bike paths, maintenance needs or where we might need to carry out further investigations into the best way of accommodating traffic flows and cyclists. It also helps us by providing a reliable annual benchmark of riders within the Coffs Harbour local government area.
