Coffs Coast Growers Market

Coffs Coast Growers Markets offer a direct link between the producer and the consumer, providing a healthy cut-price alternative where the consumer can learn more about the products they are purchasing direct from the grower or a grower's representative.

The Coffs Coast Growers' Market exists to achieve a number of aims including:

  • To the Agricultural Industry the Market aims to conserve, and encourage the growth of local farmland, and to promote the importance of developing a sustainable agricultural industry. The Market aims to do this through promoting the importance of the local industry within the community, and encouraging the growth of the industry through business development.
  • To the Local Producers the Market aims to "support and stimulate profitable trading, viability and business growth" by providing a direct link between the producer and the consumer. The Market aims to nurture the growth of its producers by providing them with the assistance they need to see their business improve.
  • To the Community the Market aims to promote a healthier lifestyle through the regular supply of fresh produce and providing a greater knowledge of the benefits of fresh produce. The market also aims to enhance the cohesiveness of the social fabric of the community by providing a meeting place for the community and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the City Square.
  • To the Economy the Market aims to inspire the support of, and highlight the benefits of supporting all local industries. To promote the local industry beyond the Coffs Coast Region and encourage others outside the region to come and experience what the Coffs Coast has to offer.

The Coffs Coast Growers' Market provide the freshest in local and regional produce plus a growing range of organic produce.  Regular items for sale include: fruit and vegetables, flowers, plants and herbs, olives, cakes, honey, nuts, flowers, oils, eggs, wood-fired breads, wild seafood and more recently, meats and gourmet sausages.

Council encourages the community to show support for local producers and come along to the City Square on Thursday between 8.00am and 3.30pm. Because the markets are very popular, it is recommended to come early to see the full range of products on offer.
