Moonee Creek

Moonee Creek

The Moonee Creek estuary is located approximately 8km north of Coffs Harbour, and enters the ocean immediately north of Green Bluff and adjacent to the village of Moonee Beach. It has a catchment area of approximately 42 km2 and a waterway area of 0.3 km2. Moonee Creek contains a diverse mix of habitat types and estuarine communities, including mangroves, seagrasses, saltmarshes, freshwater wetlands and fringing riparian vegetation.  An Estuary Processes Study and a combined Estuary Management Study and Plan have been developed to provide a joint approach to estuary management of Moonee Creek by various government agencies.
